Student Story #2 – Abbie Chandler

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) Australian Catholic University

Why did you choose your course and what do you enjoy the most about it?

Working with young learners is a passion of mine. Their natural curiosity is fascinating and I love to support their understanding about the world and them. I also loved school and want to share the same love to my students.

What has been your learning journey to date?

I grew up in Brisbane. I have spent the last 3 years of my degree there, and got given the opportunity to PTT role out here in Mount Isa. Who knows how long I will be here for now?

How important is having the CUC in your local town to you and why?

CUC provided me a sense of “normality” in my final year of my degree. I am so used to driving to Uni for my classes. Now that everything is online, CUC is a place where I can focus on my assignments and interact with others away from home.
