Established in August 2024, the Country Universities Centre Mount Isa is a community-led organisation.
Our mission is to provide Mount Isa students with the space and tools they need to create a vibrant and more prosperous future for themselves and their wider community.
As a non-profit, we’re supported by the federal government, and through local partnerships.
CUC Mount Isa is a registered entity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), established through the support of the Federal Government Regional University Study Hub program. The initiative has also benefited from strong local partnerships, including Mount Isa Mines and APA, which have contributed to the development of a welcoming and inclusive learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology for local students.

We’re a Regional Study Hub.
An initiative of the Australian Government Department of Education, the Regional University Study Hub network helps students in regional and remote areas access higher education without having to leave their community. A regional study hub provides student support and campus-style facilities for students who study online or travel for their placement.

We’re an affiliate of the Country Universities Centre network.
The CUC network operates in communities where universities cannot or will not go, from the coast to the outback, with the common goal of developing equitable access to higher education. The CUC is an affiliated network of 28+ community owned centres operating in 35+ communities across regional NSW, QLD, Victoria and Tasmania. Each Centre is locally governed and driven by its community through an independent Board of Directors and is affiliated with CUC.
